AMI
General Description
This is a complete two way data communication system for automatic meter reading (AMR), using low voltage power line grid as the medium, known as PLC technology. Designed to meet International Standards, it provides robust and reliable data communication by using low speed, error detection and error correction techniques. Its scalable features, together with standard protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP, FTP, etc.), allows the electricity company to seamlessly integrate it with its actual system.
Systelab International® provides the three components required to build this AMR system:
Digital AMR electricity meter
[MTC 1000/SP]:
Replaces the old mechanical electricity meter. This hi-tech meter is a complete energy recorder, with built-in power line modem for data communication (PLM).
Data concentrator [DTC-1000]:
Installed in every distribution transformer. Provides communication bridge between the electricity company and every meter connected to the distribution transformer.
Data server [STC-1000]:
Installed in the electricity company's office. Provides user-friendly access to all DTCs and MTCs equipments, with built-in SQL database server for easy integration of existing management and accounting software.
By installing those components and replacing the mechanical electricity meters, the electricity company can access to instant and realtime valuable information of their customers.
With just a click... demand profile, maximum demand analysis, technical and non-technical losses analysis, QoS, remote control and monitoring (cut off the energy, read any electrical parameter), and remote reconfiguration of any parameter (multi-tariff, setup prepaid mode, load control, alarms) of any meter....
STC-1000
Data Server
Meters administration and management. User friendly, web pages front end. SQL server and standard data transfer protocol. Scalable to any electricity company requirement. Completely self-contained CPU, with uninterrupted power supply. Automatic information backup, with redundant storage media. Virtually unlimited number of workstations can connect to an Intranet (LAN). Linux Operating System. No royalties or licenses. Username / password and group administration.
DTC-1000
Data concentrator
Controls and communicates with all the meters connected to it. Bridges and buffers all the traffic between meters and STC-1000. TCP/IP allows the use of virtually any communication link to STC-1000. Linux Operating System Outstanding performance and robustness. Royalty free, stable operating system.
MTC-1000/SP
Single-phase digital energy meter with built-in power line communication modem (PLM). Accurate to Class 1 active power, 5(60)A.
Measures and registers active and reactive power and energy. Measures and registers RMS voltage and current. Statistical information (maximum, minimum, average). Anti-tampering features. Multi-tariff: 4 different tariffs and 8 time slots. Built in high power contactor for energy control. Automatic and remote energy connection and disconnection. Supports Standalone mode for failsafe operation. Compact design: 145mm(H) x 102mm(W) x 60mm (D)
